With Bungoma set to launch the affordable housing project for its residents, Governor Lusaka has led a delegation drawn from the department of Lands, Urban and Physical Planning, Housing and Municipalities for a benchmarking mission in Makueni County.
Makueni County in partnership with UN-Habitat has benefited from the one million housing units being constructed in Kenya in the next five years and Bungoma stands a good chance to benefit from the scheme with the right collaborative framework.

“We have come to learn how the County Government of Makueni is scaling in the affordable housing scheme. The knowledge and experience acquired will go along way in helping us implement the same in Bungoma County so that our people reap good fruits of devolution,” said Lusaka.
The Governor is accompanied by CECM Douglas Sasita (Lands) Chief Officer Denson Barasa (Housing), Senior County officials and Municipalities heads.
