Governor Kenneth Lusaka has inaugurated members of the Ward Bursary management and County Scholarship committees at the County Headquarters.
The two committee members who underwent training, will be tasked with the management and disbursement of the Bursary fund and the Scholarship program amounting to Ksh 530 Million to cater for 2022-2023 financial year.
Lusaka thanked Bungoma County Assembly Members for their leadership and commitment in supporting the Bursary fund and called on them to ensure fair allocation of the bursaries.
The County boss reiterated his administration’s commitment in supporting needy students at various educational institutions.
“I commit to continue supporting needy and bright children across Bungoma to ensure continuity of the Scholarship program and make education more accessible to those who otherwise face seemingly insurmountable economic barriers, ”said Lusaka
CECM for Education announced that the vetting and revetting of the Scholarship applicants for 2023 will commence tomorrow, Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the village level.

The event was attended by MPs Dan Wanyama (Webuye West), Martin Wanyonyi (Webuye East), Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai), the County Executive Committee Members, County Assembly and other invited education stakeholders and residents of Bungoma.
