Following rampant insecurity cases within Kitale town where several business men have lost their properties to thugs, two people killed; an Asian business man with a local, several security agencies have held a security meeting to discuss the matter.
The gang in the past one month has been robbing business men using
motor cycles within the town, the recent case where a business man was robbed his cash in the morning while another one killed in December with a local when the gang of three robbers entered an Asian shop and stole money killing him on the spot.
Another robbery incident occurred on 3rd of January when an Asian businessman was robbed his cash while on transit as he was going to the bank but left him unhurt.
Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Mbogai Rioba with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya have warned the group behind terrorising residents saying when caught will be apprehended according to the law.
Natembeya has appealed to security agencies to tackle the gang without mercy to make sure that the town is secure.
The County Commissioner appealed to the business men to approach
police officers to give them security whenever they want to take their funds to banks for free.
The meeting was also attended by leadership of business community led by Chamber of Commerce President Martin Waliaula, boda boda leadership among other leaders who appealed to security agencies to beef up security within the town.
