Students of Namwela Boys high school in Sirisia constituency have been forced to return home after fire gutted down one of the makeshift dormitories in the school.
Speaking after chairing a meeting in the school, Bungoma County Education director Pius Mungoma said together with the board of management agreed to send the students home to allow the school to find out the cause of the fire break
He said it is unfortunate that three dormitories have been burned down in the school saying it has affected the learning activities in the school as the students need to have a conducive environment for learning.
However parents who were denied entry in the school lamented over the increased incidences of fire saying they are now fearing for the lives of their children saying a long lasting solution needs to be arrived at.
Elsewhere students of Chwele Kenya Medical Training College went on a rampage demonstrating against the school principal Promina Muhia’s style of leadership saying they want her transferred.
The students accused the principal of chasing away lecturers who were handy in helping them with their studies saying the institution has only four lecturers who are employed by the government hence cannot manage to teach all the students.

They lamented that the principal has a poor relationship with the students saying they have been airing their grievances and she has been brushing them off hence claiming they cannot cope with the situation anymore.
“We don’t have water in the institution and are forced to drink water from the borehole which is not safe and also we don’t have enough furniture hence forced to share while attending classes which makes us not to concentrate” said one student
They called upon the ministry of education to intervene
End.
