Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has assured tea and coffee farmers that the Council of Governor’s Agriculture committee will look into their well-being.
Speaking in Nandi County, while gracing the launch of Emmanuel Kamonjil Parish, Lusaka assured tea and coffee farmers of the Government’s support through the Council of Governors where he sits as the Chair to enhance their livelihoods.
“This is where we discuss and strategize how we will change the agriculture sector and produce food for our people, we have the best plans for our farmers, and we will protect you at all costs.”He said.
Lusaka noted that the government is working towards strengthening the agriculture sector by focusing on value chain addition for farmers and weeding out cartels who have invaded the sector.
“Our farmers are not getting value for their produce. The Agriculture sector has been immensely invaded by cartels, we shall root them out, one by one,” he warned
Governor Stephan Sang, Chief of Staff and Head of The Public Service Felix Koskei, CS Transport Kipchumba Murkomen, Senators, MPs, MCAs and other political leaders were present.
