Pump prices are to rise up after 184 MPs voted to double the VAT on petroleum products from 8% to 16% while 88 voted against it.
This will see fuel increase by an average of shs 10 a litre.
After a heated debate on Wednesday June 21 at the National Assembly, majority of Azimio MPs voted against the clause whereas majority of Kenya Kwanza voted for.
Employees will be charged 1.5% tax on their gross salary towards the Affordable Housing Plan after 184 MPs voted in support of the housing levy clause as 72 MPs opposed it.
