President William Ruto has appointed Insurance Regulatory Authority Chair and former Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga as the Chairperson of Non- Governmentals Organization Co-ordination Board and revoked Gichira Kibaara’s appointment.
In a gazette notice dated 15th September, 2023, Mwambu is assuming the role with immediate effect and will serve for a period of three years.
Until his appointment, Mwambu was serving as the IRA Chairperson, the position he has held from 10th February 2023.
In his acceptance and gratitude message to the President via his Facebook page, Mwambu has pledged his commitment and work tirelessly to ensure effective coordination and regulation of non- governmental organizations in the country.
He has thanked the President for having confidence in him and promised to contribute to the progress and development of the country in his new role.
Mwambu served as Bumula MP between 2017-2022.
