The renovation of the Kericho Green sports ground was completed a day before the Mashujaa Day celebrations to be held at the ground.
The ceremony of handing over the field will be held today Thursday led by the Minister of Sports Ababu Namwamba.
President William Ruto will lead the nation in the celebration of Heroes’ Day tomorrow, Friday in an event that will be attended by senior government officials.
In addition, about 250 heroes will be honored during the celebration, the theme of which is access to health for all.
The Committee for the Preparation of the National Celebrations led by the Secretary in the Ministry of National Security Dr. Raymond Omollo and Minister of Health Susan Nakhumicha visited the stadium yesterday Tuesday to check if everything is in order before the celebration of Mashujaa celebrations.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, Minister Nakhumicha was satisfied with the committee’s preparations and invited all Kenyans, especially residents of Kericho County, to attend the ceremony.
Nakhumicha has been at the forefront of making sure this year’s Heroes’ Day celebrations are successful considering this year’s theme of access to health for all under his empire.
Secretary Omollo, on his part, explained that they have witnessed the practice of several characters of the ceremony, including soldiers and artists, and that he is sure they are ready to entertain those who will attend.
