Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka today graced the official opening of the induction of Chief Officers in the agriculture sector.
Speaking during the event held in Mombasa, Lusaka called on the officers to observe high integrity while helping their County bosses achieve their visions.
“You run very crucial departments that hold a key role in the economy of the country, it is therefore incumbent on you to provide outstanding leadership,” said Lusaka.
Lusaka who is also the agriculture chair of the COG observed that the transformation of the County-level agricultural practices does not only contribute to national prosperity but also plays a significant role in addressing global challenges, particularly climate change.

“Agriculture in Kenya has always served as the backbone of our economy, providing sustenance for our people and livelihoods for millions. In the face of climate change and a swiftly evolving global market, adapting, and innovating have become imperatives. This is where County Chief Officers are pivotal. As dedicated public servants, your role in shaping our agricultural future is more critical than ever,“ he added
He called on the officers to consider County Agricultural transformation in order to enhance productivity, ensure sustainability, and boost profitability in the agricultural sector.
“As County Chief Officers, you are the architects of this transformation, crafting a path that aligns with national policies while honoring the unique characteristics and resources of each county.” Said the agriculture COG chair
He further called on the officers in the agriculture sector to create solutions for the increasing climate change.
