It was ululations, chants, songs and dance when one Mr. Emmanuel Nandemu Barasa walked down the aisle with the love of his life Lauryn Maina. The event that took place over last week saw many of his colleagues and friends from all walks of life attend.
Political class led by Member of Parliament for Kabuchai Constituency Majimbo Kalasinga also attended the event. The church mass where they officially received their holy communion was held at Christ the King Cathedral Bungoma.
The mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Manuni.
Unlike other events where only one or two priests presides over the function, the Saturday event was attended by ten priests led by Rev. Fr. Jeremiah Manuni. Rev. Fr. Protas Osyanju, Rev. Fr. Linus Odoli, Rev. Fr. Chrispinus Marofu, Rev. Fr. Severius Erupot, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ayieko, Rev. Fr. Alphonse Khisa, Rev. Fr. Lucas Nandemu, Rev. Fr. Peter Masoni, andRev. Fr. Geoffrey Wabwile.
In his preaching to the newly married and the congregations, Rev. Fr. Protus Osyanju dwelt on the four pillars of marriage which included Respect, communication, commitment and trust.
The event was attended by employees of West Media Limited Led by the Company Director Cyprian Wekesa.
Others were West Media Programmes manager Nick Nbangi, Robert Ilukol, Joan Wesakulila,Mfalme Kabaka, Victoria Sindani, Walter Namisi, Sikhomekho Nanjala masinde among others.
The event was also attended by the groom and bride’s friends that are from the Senate and Immigration department where they work respectively.
After the church service the newly married couple left for a reception at the Royal Gardens, a way to Musikoma in Bungoma town together with their entourage.
The reception was accompanied by speeches, food and drinks spice with Luhya music. Many who spoke wished the newly married a blessed and happy marriage.
