Members of the UDA party in Bungoma County have expressed their optimism over the forthcoming party grassroot election saying they are looking forward to having credible leaders who will be able to steer the party forward.
In his address to the press after conducting a party structure familiarization session to the party members, Marvin Wamukota who is a member of the party secretariat said its all systems go for the party to hold the elections in December assuring members that the exercise will be free and fair.
He disclosed that the aim of the election is to structure the party for prosperity. He added that members who have interest in vying for different posts have been enlightened on the responsibilities they will be partaking in.
He further disclosed that they have created more posts for representation as a way of ensuring all the sectors have been represented that include the religious leaders, the business community as well as farmers an indicator that it will be an all inclusive package.
His sentiments were echoed by Desmond Shinaka who said as a party they are focussing on having a well structured leadership up to the grass root level urging those who have not joined to feel free and join the ruling party.
Timothy Lukorito who is one of the members of the party from Bungoma said the ongoing party recruitment drive is an open exercise to members of the public who wish to join any political party.
Lukorito explained that as UDA they are focussing to have many members ahead of the next general election.
