The much-anticipated results of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) national examination are expected to be announced today by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Mr. Julius Migos Ogamba. The official release will take place at the New Examinations House building in South C, Nairobi, and marks the culmination of months of anticipation for over 965,000 candidates who sat for the exams.
Last year’s KCSE was conducted across 10,755 centers nationwide, with 965,501 candidates registered to take the examination, a notable increase from the 903,138 candidates in 2023. The increase in the number of candidates highlights a growing interest in secondary education, as well as the success of policies aimed at improving access to education across the country.
The announcement comes just one day after the release of the 2024 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) results.
The 2024 KCSE examination was administered under strict security measures and online monitoring systems, as part of efforts to curb cheating and ensure fairness in the assessment process. Education stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and students, are eagerly awaiting the outcome, as the results will have a significant impact on university placements, scholarship opportunities, and career paths.
