Kenya has recorded 22 new Covid-19 cases, from a sample size of 595 samples tested in the last 24 hours. Speaking to the press on Monday, Health CAS Rashid Aman said the total number of Coronavirus cases in Kenya has now risen to 39,449. All of these new cases are Kenyans except one foreigner, with the youngest being 18 years old and the oldest 65 years.
Further, 376 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours, raising the total recoveries to 27,035. Of these recoveries, 360 are from the home based care program, while 16 are from different hospitals. The fatalities have reached 735, with 4 more deaths in the last 24 hours.
In the Counties, Nairobi has recorded the highest number of new cases, with 18 confirmed, Meru County has 2, Nakuru and Kiambu have one each. On healthcare workers, the CAS said 1,029 workers have tested positive so far, with 526 males and 503 females. “Our case fatality rate for healthcare workers still remains very low at 1.6%,” said A man.
