In Tachoni culture and tradition a person who takes his life is buried at night according to the elder Mzee Joseph Mukanda who spoke to press, saying his grave will be flattened as opposed to how a normal grave is prepared, and the tree will be uprooted after three days and burnt together with his clothes and the rope he used. “This young man wanted to die and therefore we’ll bury him at night and his grave will be flat…whoever will bring his body down from the tree will bury him and hell be paid according to the agreement. We initially issued a cow and a goat but because of the tough economic time we are in, we’ll have to agree accordingly.” He also added that no new born child will be named after the deceased. On his part, the area assistant chief Jotham Mauyo Wakora said its shocking to see many death cases being reported among the youths and urged them to seek for help if anything is wrong.
