28 more people have tested positive for the Coronavirus in the last 24 hours out of 1611 samples tested, with the total number of cases now up to 649. 10 of the cases are in Mombasa, 9 in Nairobi, 4 in Migori, 2 in Kajiado, 1 each in Machakos, Kiambu and Homa Bay.
1 person has died in Mombasa, with cases of Coronavirus fatalities now at 30. However, 5 people have recovered and have been discharged, with the total number of recoveries up to 207. Health CAS Rashid Aman has said cases of community transmission still pose the greatest challenge.
He outlined more restriction measures in the restricted areas of Eastleigh in Nairobi and Old Town in Mombasa. They include prohibition of hawking, prohibition of gatherings of any nature, and continued closure of malls, eateries and restaurants.
