A somber mood has enveloped Kewa village in Mbagara sub location Lugari Sub County after a 37 year old man was hit and killed by a tree that was being harvesting.
According to Meshack Musheru, they were cutting a eucalyptus tree in the neighborhood with his friend near Mr. Elijah Barasa’s compound but being afraid of the tree falling on his house, the latter joined them to help pull and direct it away from the house.
He said they successfully managed to pull the tree to the intended direction but as they were running for their safety, Barasa slipped and fell before being hit by the tree.
He was rescued and rushed to Mautuma sub county hospital at Mlimani where he succumbed while undergoing treatment.
