Residents of Bulanda estate in Busia town were left in shock after a fifty-year-old woman committed suicide. The woman’s lifeless body was discovered by neighbors in the morning hanging on a rope suspended on the rooftop of her rental house in the estate,
“She usually wakes up in the morning to go and work for people in order to get some money but today she didn’t wake up and when we peeped through her door which had been locked from inside, we saw her boding hanging on a rope,” explained a neighbor.
It was not immediately ascertained what led her to commit suicide although neighbors alleged that she has been having quarrels with one of the neighbors, “They quarrel now and then and one day the other neighbor told her that she had given her three months and she will be dead.”
The residents have faulted the police for taking over four hours to arrive at the scene and take away the body, “Since seven in the morning we have been waiting for the police to come and take away the body but they are yet to arrive. They have told us that their vehicle has no fuel. This is so unfortunate because we pay tax and that money is budgeted to cater for their fuel so in makes no sense when they claim they have no fuel.”
