Seregeya residents, in Seregeya sub location, Likuyani location, Likuyani sub county have expressed their concern over rampant cases of murder being witnessed in the area.
Speaking to West Media, the residents lamented over the increasing cases of insecurity claiming that in a period of one month three people have been killed with their bodies dumped next to the Seregeya police patrol base.
In a recent incident, the body of a 51 year old man was discovered Sunday morning dumped in between the area assistant chief’s office and the police patrol base.
According to Sternly Akivaga, his brother Andrew Gudahi who is a casual laborer left home Saturday morning to look for his daily bread but didn’t return before his body was discovered by passers-by Sunday morning.
He said the body had serious visible injuries on the neck indicating that he was strangled to death.
The residents led by Agabo Otieno and Edward Amadala have pointed laxity among the security apparatus in the area to be the lead cause of increased cases of insecurity.
“We are losing our people through murder and illicit brew but our security officers have chosen to give it a blind eye and a deaf ear,” said Moses Amadala.
Confirming the incident, Seregeya sub location assistant chief Meshack Shivina said police have launched investigations into the incident with an aim of bringing to book the perpetrators of the crimes.
