Kenya has recorded 603 more Covid-19 cases in the space of 24 hours, from a sample size of 5,724 samples. The cumulative samples tested so far are 243,887. According to a press release Ministry of Health on Sunday, 361 of the new cases are males, while 242 are females. The youngest is 7 months old while the oldest is 86 years old.
Nairobi has 441 cases, Kiambu County has 29 cases, Kajiado County has 29 cases, Mombasa County has 22 cases, Nakuru County has 17 cases, Kilifi has 10 cases. Busia has 7 cases, Machakos has 6 cases, Kisii has 6 cases, Makueni County has 5, Murang’a has 4 cases, Nyeri has 2 cases. Bungoma County has 2 cases. Kakamega, Jericho, Kisumu, Kwale, Lamu, Narok, Tharaka Nithi, Garissa and Uasin Gishu Counties have 1 case each.
The 2 cases in Bungoma County are from Kanduyi. The 7 cases in Busia County are from Teso North 5, Matayos 1 and Teso South 1. The 1 case in Kakamega is from Lurambi. Further, the Health Ministry said 682 patients recovered within the last day, 562 under the home based care programme and 120 from hospitals. The total recoveries stands at 5,122. 4 patients succumbed to the virus in the same time frame, with fatalities now at 234.
