A section of youths from Emgwen sub-county in Nandi county have come out strongly and urged the political class to exercise political tolerance ahead of the August polls.
Led by David Koech, they asked all the political leaders whether aspiring or incumbents to consider practicing political tolerance for the betterment of their people, saying what is going on in Emgwen isn’t good at all.
Their call comes amid spread of leaflets to tarnish the reputation of one of the aspiring candidates who is contesting for Emgwen parliamentary seat.
“We want our leaders to be politically tolerant and seek votes wisely by leading as an example to the electorates.” They said
Emgwen constituency parliamentary seat has attracted a number of aspiring contestants who want to unseat the current MP Alex Kosgey who is eyeing the senatorial seat.
Some of the candidates who have shown interest in the seat are KUPPET Secretary Nandi Branch Paul Rotich, former Women Representative Zipporah Kering among many other contestants.
Youths in the region have vowed to preach peace during and after the August polls saying Nandi is a peaceful county and won’t allow any politician with selfish interest to ruin it.
