The President of the Republic of Kenya His Exellency William Samoei Ruto together with the Firrst Lady Rachel Ruto led Kenyans in marking the Chrismas festivities in an Interdenominational Chrismas church service in Uasin Gishu County.
The service is the first public function ever in his Uasin Gishu home back yard since he was elected as the Fifth President of the Republic of Kenya in the last August polls.
Speaking during the service at Eldoret Sports Club, Ruto thanked Kenyans for voting him in as the President and for also turning up in large numbers to welcome him home.
“I want to thank all Kenyans for giving me an opportunity to be their President and I will serve all of you without any discrimiation of race and tribe.” He vowed.
Ruto who was joined by political leaders from Rift Valley and some parts of the County said his government was founded on christian foundation and him as the President will built it on the same foundation.
On issues concerning the country’s economy, Ruto cited that it has been built on basis of debt and as a government have vowed to change it.
The President moreover, promised to initiate tough and stringen measures that will save farmers from unscrupulous traders and middle men, directing Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs and the entire NGAO administration to consider taking data of farmers in January next year so as to help the government know the exact number of farmers in the Country.
On the other hand, Eldoret Catholic Diocese Bishop Dominic Kimengich who led the service with other clergies from the region, asked the President to remain a symbol of National Unity by reaching out to all Kenyans irrespective of who voted and not voted for him during the General Elections.
