68 years old woman stabs husband to death
Police in Kakamega town have arrested a 68 years old woman who is alleged to have stabbed her 79 years old husband to death.
According to neighbours who witnessed the incident, the woman by name Rosalia Mihanda stabbed her husband identified by only one name Maurice after an argument that the deceased had eaten all the githeri that she had cooked.
Neighbours have indicated that both the suspect and the deceased were drunk at the time of the incident.
The incident occurred near the Khayega shopping center in Shinyalu sub county of Kakamega county.
Shinyalu area OCPD Joseph Chebii has confirmed the incident saying that investigations into the matter are underway calling upon relatives and friends to remain calm as police do their work.
The deceased’s body is lying at the Kakamega County hospital awaiting postmortem.
Elsewhere, Easter celebrations turned drastic after a 26 years old man drunk himself dead.
According to eye witnesses, the deceased commonly known as Were was seen entering a local club at 9.30 pm.
The club’s watchman who sought anonymity said that the man arrived at the club at 9.30pm and he blocked him from accessing the club of which he heeded and sat by the entrance. But minutes later, people who seemed known to the deceased arrived and asked him to accompany them to the club.
Hours later the group that had drunk to their satisfaction was seen escorting Were to the veranda of the club where they left him before being discovered dead in the morning.
Those who saw him the night before claim that he might have over drunk on an empty stomach.
Relatives and friends are calling upon the government to look in to the issue by investigating the people he was with to find out what might have transpired.
