Kenya’s Coronavirus cases have risen to 95,923 after 80 more infections were confirmed on Sunday. In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the new cases were picked from 1,601 samples. The cumulative tests conducted are now 1,033,322.
63 of the new cases are Kenyans while 17 are foreigners, with 51 males and 29 females. The youngest is a 3-year-old child and the oldest is 98 years old.
3 patients have succumbed to the virus, taking the fatalities to 1,658. 425 patients have recovered, however, 369 from the home based care program and while 56 have been discharged from different health facilities.
The cases are distributed in the Counties as follows; Nairobi 55, Busia 7, Lamu 5, Kiambu 4, Murang’a 3, Kilifi 2, Kajiado, Kericho, Kitui, Nakuru each with 1 case.
There are currently 651 patients admitted in various hospitals countrywide, and 3,417 patients on home based care. 38 are in ICU, of whom 18 are on ventilatory support and 17 on supplemental oxygen. 33 are separately on supplementary oxygen, of whom 26 are in general wards and 7 in HDU.
