919 people have tested positive for the Coronavirus, from a sample size of 6,135 tested in the last 24 hours, as virus cases in Kenya rise to 66,723. The cumulative tests conducted are now 766,910. Of the new cases 887 are Kenyans and 32 are foreigners, while 559 are males and 360 females. The youngest is a 7-month old child, while the oldest is 87 years old.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health confirmed that recoveries have risen to 44,040 after 414 patients recovered from the disease, 316 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 98 have been discharged from various hospitals. 23 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the fatalities to 1,203. A total of 1,279 patients are now admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 6,102 are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
60 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 20 of whom are on ventilatory support and 35 on supplementary oxygen. 89 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen, of which 71 are in the general wards and 18 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Distribution of the cases by Counties is as follows; Nairobi 345, Mombasa 98, Nakuru 76, Kilifi 74, Kiambu 44, Kericho 41, Trans Nzoia 32, Kisumu 31, Uasin Gishu 24, Kajiado 18, Nyeri 17, Kwale 14, Taita Taveta 13, Machakos 10, Siaya 9, Turkana 9, Embu 7, Lamu 7, Meru 7, West Pokot 6, Kisii 5, Murang’a 5, Narok 5, Marsabit 5, Bomet 3, Homabay 3, Laikipia 2, Kirinyaga 2, Nandi 2, Garissa 1, Nyandarua 1, Migori 1, Vihiga 1 and Kakamega 1.
