A sombre mood engulfed Mwanga B.village Mbakalo division,Tongaren Constituecy on Friday morning after a 38 year old man was found dead in his house in unclear circumstances.
According to the family members who spoke to West Media led by Anthony Cheloti, the deceased Solomon Murunga Wakhungu is said to have over drunk the previous day, besides staying alone with no wife or children when he was on Friday morning found dead in his house.
The family members alleged his death to the excessive use of alcohol, citing that they could not claim anyone responsible for his death as he over drunk the previous day and having no child or wife to take care of him he slept hungry besides having consumed alcohol excessively.
Mbakalo division is however alleged to have a number of local breweries, with the family members urging the government to step in and establish raft measures that would reduce the local liquor among measures that would reduce such cases of death resulting from the excessive use of alcohol.
Mwanga B.village elder Patric Khwatenge who confirmed the incident, stated that he heard screams when he later found out that the deceased Solomom Murunga Wakhungu who is also his neighbour had passed away, calling upon the government to control the use of alcohol in order to reduce such cases.
However, this was not the only case of locals being found dead as a result of excessive use of alcohol in Mbakalo division, an implication of how the government has failed to establish measures that would curb and control excessive use of local liquor.
