Bungoma County Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has donated building materials to a disabled woman in Lwakhakha B village in Sirisia Sub County.
Wangamati who was accompanied by other county officials promised to put up a house for the lady within a short period of time.
50-year-old Penina Nafula Pepela who is physically challenged has been staying indoors for so many years but she could not hide the joy as it was revealed in her face.
Apart from building materials Nafula also received a wheelchair and solar lighting system from the county boss to help her child in her studies, something she never dreamed of in her life.
She thanked Governor Wangamati for coming to her aid and urged him to continue with the initiative so that other less fortunate people in the society may also benefit.
The Bawambwa clan chairman Mr. Levy Mutala Nabangi also applauded Governor Wangamati for the surprise visit that will change Nafula’s life.
“I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our governor for the good job he is doing, especially in empowering the people of Bungoma, may God bless you as you eye for re-election in the forthcoming general election,” Nabangi said.
