A sorrowful mood has enveloped Munyuki village in Lumakanda location Lugari Sub County after the body of a 65 year old man was found dumped at his doorstep.
According to Kevin Keya, they spent a great part of Tuesday at a construction site with the deceased Philip Ang’ondi and parted late in the evening as everybody headed to his home in a healthy state agreeing to meet Wednesday morning.
He said Ang’ondi had asked him to pass by his home at around 8am so that they could go together to the construction site but on reaching his compound a few minutes to 8 he was shocked to see his body lying at the doorstep.
“I informed his immediate neighbor and a group of men who were working in a sugarcane plantation who rushed to the scene and confirmed he was dead,” said Keya.
According to Charles Amadi and Isaiah Ilavuna, their brother has been living alone after separating with his wife several years ago and they rarely communicated saying they were saddened by his death.
Confirming the incident, Lumakanda location chief Celestin Asige said preliminary investigations have indicated that the deceased might have been killed elsewhere and the body carried and dumped at the scene.
The body was removed by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Kimbilio funeral home in the neighboring Uasin Gishu county for postmortem to establish the cause of his death as investigations into the incident were launched.
