A 90 year old granny attacked and raped in Lugari

Speaking to West Media at Lumakanda County hospital where she was rushed for treatment, the granny who stays alone said the man gained entry into her house at around 12am after breaking one of the windows while she was deep asleep and attacked her.

She said the attack bet her and even tried to strangle her before raping her several times.

“I couldn’t even raise my voice to call for help as he tried to strangle me to ensure I don’t make any noise,” said the granny.

After a close to two hours horrible ordeal, the rapist escaped through the door and vanished in the darkness leaving the granny writhing in pain.

She was later rescued and rushed to Chekalini health center where she was given First Aid before being transferred to Lumakanda County hospital.

The incident has been bitterly condemned by her family and the community at large appealing for justice.

Police have launched investigations into the incident with an aim of apprehending the suspect.
