Members of Pambazuka Mumbo FM salaams club, a West Media Company owned radio station, have continued to expand their socioeconomic program by donating a heifer to one of its members in Sirende village Lugari Sub County.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Isaac Nyongesa who is the chairman of the group reiterated the group’s commitment in empowering its members economically.
He said the group has rolled out several projects aimed at benefiting all members and ensuring each one of them is self-reliant.
Among the projects he said was giving cows and goats to members, giving business support as well as helping those living in poor condition to build good houses and live decently.
He said so far four members have received goats, several others receiving household equipment, adding that the group has also supported other members to build good houses by donating construction materials.
Besides the projects, he said the group also supports its members in times of need like funerals and ceremonies.
During the event the group gave heifers to Jackline Nasimiyu being the first cow to be given to a member while Mr. Ernest Kwetu received 15 bags of cement.
Mr. Nyongesa urged those who are not in groups to join them and move together in terms of development.
