The lady who was shot by a businessman in Kitale Trans Nzoia County after being mistaken to be Carolyne Kangongo has finally expressed what transpired after having received a phone call from the suspect now held at Kitale police station.
On Friday, police arrested Ken Muyundo a businessman in Kitale for having shot the lady Phanice Chemutai who was mistaken to be Carolyne Kangongo who the police are pursuing for killing two men in different parts of the country.
The lady stated how she received a phone call from the suspect while at Kiminini market and asked her friend to accompany her towards the location the suspect was calling her and that upon arriving at the location he greeted them and requested to talk with her in his car after having given them some one thousand cash shillings as her friend left them to continue.
She said the suspect later on asked her to accompany him to a nearby bar where he started questioning her concerning her knowledge of the lady on the run from police dragnet Carolyne Kangongo claiming that she was the one who the police were looking for.
She explained how the suspect started roughing her up claiming she was a criminal and that he shot her before police rushed to the scene and rescued after screaming loudly for help.
She however denied having known the suspect and that she has been communicating with him for several months noting that it was the first time they met.
Trans Nzoia county police Commander Francis Ochieng confirmed having
arrested the suspect and that he will be arragned to court after investigations are complete and judged with the case of attempted murder.
