A middle aged man killed his 56 year old brother after allegedly fighting over silver cyprinid locally known as ‘omena’ in Kambi Elijah village, Seregeya sub location, Likuyani Sub County.

According to the area village elder Jimmy Gwayumba, two brothers Albert Adamba and John Kilibwa were in their mother’s house where the mother served them ugali with omena as supper but Kilibwa requested to be added more, a request that was opposed by Adamba.

The two brothers started exchanging bitter words which later resulted into a fight between them.

It forced their elder brother Vincent Mmbwanga Misango (56) to intervene in an attempt to bring peace but Adamba hit him with a blunt object on the head throwing him on the ground unconscious.

Mmbwanga was rescued and rushed to the Turbo Sub County hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The incident has been confirmed by Seregeya sub location assistant chief Moses Wanjala Shivina saying the suspect has been arrested and is being held at Likuyani police station as investigations into the incident are launched before being arraigned in court.

However, there has been a report that the three brothers have also been feuding after disagreeing on how to share their piece land.

The body was taken to Kimbilio Funeral home in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu county.
