A bright girl from a humble background in Mautuma ward, Lugari sub county who dreams of pursuing her education had been shuttered due to lack of school fees has every reason to smile after sitting her final KCSE paper at Archbishop Njenga Girls High School after being sponsored by a well-wisher.
Speaking to West Media at the school, Sharon Musimbi couldn’t hide her joy as she thanked Mr. Charles Anyona and his wife Pamela Nekesa for their philanthropic gesture of paying her fees from form two to form four and ensuring that she completed her secondary education without any problem.
“I had lost hope after my parents were unable to pay my school fees while in form two. I want to thank my foster parents Mr. Charles Anyona and Pamela Nekesa for paying all my school fees and other requirements to ensure I continue with my secondary education uninterrupted. I’m so thankful,” said Sharon.

Mr. Anyona and his wife Pamela Nekesa while they had gone to school to pick Sharon after completing her examinations said they were really touched after they met the girl crying after being told that she couldn’t go back to school for lack of school fees.
“I was really touched by her story and told my husband that we should support her, of which he agreed without any hesitation,” said Nekesa.

On his part Anyona is optimistic that the girl will excel in her examinations, promising to continue supporting her to the university and beyond.
Anyona who is vying for the Mautuma ward Member of County Assembly seat has promised to continue supporting children from humble backgrounds in the area to ensure they continue with their education without problem.
“Currently I’m supporting about 100 needy students from Mautuma ward who are learning in various secondary schools in the country,” said Anyona urging parents to invest in their children’s education.
