A sombre mood engulfed Mutekho village, Sirende sub location, Misikhu ward in Webuye West Sub County after the lifeless body of a middle aged woman was found in her house on Thursday in an unclear circumstance.
Addressing the media in the deceased’s homestead, Samson Fwela Wafula, a neighbor condemned the incidence saying that the husband of the deceased went at his home (Wafula) at midnight and informed him that his wife is not in good health after which Mr. Wafula and his wife took an initiative and accompanied him but while at the house the husband assisted the neighbor to check out and realized that the deceased had already died.
Wafula revealed that the body of the deceased had injuries on the face, mouth, hands and legs.
“It seems she was hit by a blunt object, we found her lying covered with a lesson,” he added.
Mr. Wafula praised the deceased, Jentrix Juma, as a hardworking woman and her death is a great blow to the family and the community at large.
“The untimely death of Mrs. Juma is a great blow to us, we want to ask the relevant authorities to do speedy investigations and identify what went wrong because her husband disappeared after he informed us about the state of his wife,” Wafula said.
While confirming the incident the area assistant chief Dina Kisaka urged spouses to report the cases to relevant authorities so that they can be helped in solving rather than taking law into their own hands.
Mrs. Kisaka urged members of the public to locate and identify the whereabouts of the deceased’s husband.
She said that the police have taken up the matter so that the suspect can be located to record a statement asking residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious individuals within their area.
The body of the deceased was taken to Lugulu Mission hospital mortuary by police officers.
