Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi has said that Amani National Congress (ANC) party primaries will be free and fair, in a move aimed at consolidating their members. He said the nominations will be conducted in a transparent manner by the National and County election boards already in place to ensure members are satisfied with the outcome of the results.
He called on the losers to stick to the party and support those who are elected for the sake of party unity. “We have managed to constitute a national board which will oversee the elections. The party has also formed an internal dispute resolve tribunal to address complaints from the party members participating in elections,” said Agoi.
“There will always be a winner and a loser. As leaders we must accept the outcome of the party primaries and move forward together,” said Agoi.
The Sabatia MP refuted claims that he is favored among the contestants vying for the MP seat adding that the rivals had sensed defeat and have not prepared for the coming nominations.
He added that the party has no intention of giving direct nominations to candidates and said the party certificates are yet to be printed. “We have not printed out our certificates. Those claiming that I have the certificate have developed cold feet to unseat me,” said Agoi.
Agoi exuded confidence that he will defeat his rivals with a landslide through the ANC party ticket. At the same time, he criticized the jubilee government over the failed economy and said their main objective was to remove jubilee administration from power. “Jubilee government has failed many Kenyans and the only option is to remove it from power in August 08 polls,” maintained Agoi.
