National Secondary Schools volleyball champions Malava Boys and AIC Kosirai are favourites to defend their titles after easing through to the final of the Airtel Rising Stars Term Two B Games.
Malava from Nzoia thrashed Aberdares’ Tetu 3-0 (25-20, 25-23 and 25-23), in a one sided semi to seal a final slot against Cheptil from Mau who saw off hosts Sengera 3-0 (25-16, 25-23 and 25-16).
Malava coach Shadrack Tovoko said; “It was a balanced match because we are used to each other. We have learnt a lot in this championship and we hope we will be able to replicate that in the final to retain the title since this is the most important match.”
In girls’ Volleyball AIC Kosirai desire to retain their title was evident when they stunned former Champions Lugulu 3-1 (28-26, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-18) in an entertaining show piece at Kisumu Boys.
Kosirai coach Richard Soi said; “I’m confident I we will retail this trophy. My girls have recovered from the loss in the first game and we shall beat Soweto.”
Sega will battle it out with Kigali in the third place play off.
Debutants Soweto from Metropolitan stunned Sega 3-0 (25-22, 25-21 and 25-21) to seal a maiden final and face an uphill task against the champions.
