All the Independent candidates in Nandi ranging from the MCA seat to the gubernatorial didn’t see the light of the day in this year’s general elections as they were sent parking by the electorates who instead chose to go the six piece way by electing the United Democratic Alliance(UDA) party candidates.

Nandi County had many Independent candidates who lost in party nominations and opted to run independently but they did not sail through due to party wave where the electorates under the influence of the UDA party leader William Samoei unanimously agreed to support the party thus anybody not in the party was sent home.

Tindiret incumbent MP Julius Melly retained his seat after being re-elected for a third time with 38,715 votes against his opponent Samuel Malakwen who garnered 2,275 votes respectively.
