Amani National Congress (ANC) Party is set to hold its party nominations in the month of April 2017 ahead of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission deadline of 27th April 2017. The nominations will enable the party to prepare for the general election which will be held on 8th August this year.
The dates for nominations in various counties have been staggered to enable candidates with petitions to file them with the Internal Disputes and Resolution Committee (IDRC) so that they can be heard and determined before the 26th April 2017.
Nominations in Busia, Kakamega, Bungoma, Vihiga and Trans Nzoia will be held on 3rd April 2017, with the hearing of petitions by the IDRC set on 6th April 2017.
The party’s National Election Board (NEB) has appealed to aspirants to comply with the party nomination requirements so that they won’t be locked out of the nominations, and aspirants who won’t have done so by Friday 24th March will stand locked out of the nominations.
The NEB will forward all the results of the nominated candidates to the ANC secretariat by 25th April 2017 so as to comply with the IEBC deadline.
