Amani National Congress (ANC) party officials have vowed to strengthen its Nationwide support before the next general elections by registering more members.
The five month old party said it will field Musalia Mudavadi as the flag bearer and would not go into coalition before the next general elections.
“We have prepared ourselves well and nobody should be duped that we are going to partner with other parties to ascend to power,” maintained the party’s chairman in Vihiga Mr.Asena Muyoma.
According to Mr. Asena, flanked by other party officials they want to intensify voter registration and membership in all the 47 counties.
“So far we have registered more than 60,000 members in Vihiga County and by the time of elections we will net the whole Country,” promised Muyoma.
He also welcomed those who want to vie for various political seats in the forthcoming general elections through ANC Countrywide.
They were speaking to the press at their offices in Mbale town, where they said the popularity of the party has brought jitters among other political leaders in the Country
The chairman said Cord and Jubilee parties should not fear the popularity of the party in the region and criticized the idea of buying political leaders to support them.
He said they will also coordinate with IEBC officials to cover more locals voter registration by offering transport to eligible voters to various registration centers.
The chairman claimed it has been a challenge for IEBC to set up registration centers at every corner of the County thus disadvantaging other locals.
“As ANC party, we are well set to provide free movement of eligible voters to various polling stations to get registered,” said the Chairman.
He called on the locals to remain committed to the party which stands for peace, good governance and supports devolution.
The party officials who accompanied the chairman at the press conference included William Kaisha (Secretary), Rita Atieno (Secretary Women Affairs), Stephen Munda (Secretary Youth affairs), Mitchel Cathrine ( Treasurer) and Jairus Olinga (Organizing Secretary).
