Andy Murray gave Team GB a fifth Gold medal after a fascinating match against Juan Martin Del Potro on Sunday night.
The Wimbledon champion did it in suitably epic fashion, slugging it out with Juan Martin Del Potro for more than four hours before winning 7-5 4-6 6-2 7-5 in a match which had everything.

It was one of the most physically and mentally demanding match in Murray’s amazing career which left him so emotional.
He is the first man ever to retain an Olympic singles title, earning the incredible feat after toppling the brave and brilliant Del Potro.

With cheers from his Argentinian countrymen, Del Potro based his game on pure emotions, something which gave him the platform to lead the second round.
After Murray had brought up a break point by winning an extraordinary rally, Del Potro collapsed over the net like a punch-drunk boxer on the ropes.
After the game, there was a long, lingering hug between the two players, as Argentines cheered for their hero, even in defeat.
As is often the case, Murray was the last man standing.
