The Anglican church Bishop of Kapsabet Diocese Paul Korir has urged women in Nandi to become intercessors and demonstrate love in their societies by standing firm against the societal vices like tribalism and hatred. Korir said that women are pillars of the society and the nation at large, as they set standards of how the society can live.
Addressing a congregation of the Mothers Union at Kapsabet Boys High school after officially opening the meeting which brought together over 600 Anglican women from the entire county of Nandi , Korir revealed that women are the light of the society thus should be on the forefront when it comes to setting standards.
The theme of the meeting is ‘ Let your Light Shine’ and is the first Anglican Women meeting to be organized in the newly formed Diocese of Kapsabet led by the Bishop.
The Bishop added that as an Anglican church, they are laying a foundation for the new diocese which will be built on the word of God. The word of God is powerful and does everything good for the believers.
Concerning the issue of the general elections which are at the doorpost,the bishop called upon every Kenyan to uphold peace and love for the development and prosperity of the nation.
He said leadership comes from God and whoever wants to contest for any seat should be respected without any underestimation. “Don’t discourage anybody and whoever wins will be for all of us,” he said.
