In a span of less than a week after the body of a middle aged man was retrieved from Kipkaren river in Lugari, another body has been retrieved from the same river and at the same scene sending fear among residents.
Confirming the incident, Musembe sub location assistant chief Pamela Siangu said the decomposing body was discovered by a man who was clearing bushes on their farm that borders the river.
“There is a man who was clearing bushes near the river and discovered an object floating on the water, on carefully looking he discovered it was a human before he informed the administration,” said Siangu.
She said the body was later identified to be of a 47 year old Solomon Luseno Sangala, a resident of Musembe village who the family had reported missing since Thursday.
According to the family, the deceased, who is a drunkard, left home to a drinking den but didn’t return with efforts to search for him being futile before his body was discovered in the river.
The incident has raised fear among residents demanding a thorough investigation to establish the root cause of the deaths after the first body was also identified to be of a man from Musembe.
The body was removed by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Kimbilio funeral home in the neighboring Uasin Gishu county for postmortem as they launched investigations into the incident.
