President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a warning to Kenyans that those leading the fight on corruption, led by the DCI and DPP, aren’t joking and are taking the war on corruption seriously. Speaking in Mombasa, he said those leading the graft war have put their whole focus into it, dead or alive, “I haven’t sent anyone, you are the one whose been found in corruption,” he said, “These guys aren’t joking or laughing. We’ll just be reading in newspapers someone has been taken, another one has been apprehended.”
He said the days when some leaders could try and call him to help them in their distress when found culpable are over, “The trend where people used to call and say how things have gone ugly and asking for help are over. Those phone lines were switched off now it’s up to you to help yourself.” The President has placed the war on corruption on the priorities table, with high profile arrests made since the anti graft push started in earnest.
