Brian Kipchumba 14, from Bishop Muge School in Mosop Sub-County is the best student in Nandi County after scoring 421 marks in the just released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.
Speaking to journalists in the school vicinity where celebrations were held by parents and the entire school community, Kipchumba thanked God for enabling him to score such marks saying it took him hard work and sacrifice and above all God fearing and discipline for his achievements.
Kipchumba aspires to be a neurosurgeon in future and is expecting to join a national school probably Alliance Boys High school to pursue his dreams.
“I want to thank my God for enabling me score four hundred and above marks in KCPE and I want to laud the efforts of teachers and my parents, am grateful and I promise to soar higher and beyond in what is ahead of me,” Kipchumba stated
Teachers in Bishop Muge School showed their happiness with Kipchumba’s stunning results and are very grateful to God, saying that He has been seeing them through all the years and are not taking it for granted.
The school head teacher Mr. Sammy Sawe said they had great expectations as teachers to perform above that and are very grateful for their concerted efforts in producing good results.
“We as Bishop Muge memorial school fraternity were expecting to perform more than what we have achieved but we thank God for what he has given us as getting more than thirty pupils with four hundred and above marks is not an easy task,” Sawe affirmed.
He revealed that the school had thirty six students who scored four hundred and above marks in the just released KCPE results with a mean score of 391.83.
Nandi County had a total of 30,113 registered candidates; 15,252 boys and 14,861 girls who sat their examinations in 723 examination centers.
