After a long search, residents of Kapchorwa village in Emgwen Constituency in Nandi County together with the County disaster management team and police officers from Nandi Central have successfully managed to retrieve the body of Lily Cherubet, 25 years old, who drowned in river Kimondi on Saturday last week.
Speaking to West FM, OCPD for Nandi Central Mr. Stephen Wambua confirmed the retrieval of the body from the river on Wednesday afternoon, and lauded the efforts of the County disaster management team and the police.
Wambua said they received information on 8th February from the family that the girl who was mentally challenged had drowned in the river. The body was taken to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital mortuary.
