A cloud of sorrow engulfed Kewa village in Marakusi sub location in Lugari Sub County after a decomposing body of a 30 year old man was found in his house in the village.
According to Haron Khachina, he was with his friend Paul Mwombe on Friday and he requested him to go and help him plant his farm Monday morning before he found his body lying lifeless on the bed inside his house.
He said he woke up early Monday morning as agreed but when he reached his compound he found the door locked from inside.
“After knocking on the door severally without response, I went to his bedroom window and peeped through a broken window pen where I was shocked to see his body lying on the bed,” said Khachina.
He said he informed neighbors before alerting officers at Panpaper police patrol base who visited the scene and broke the door to gain entry into the house.
According to the mother Regina Soita who lives in Majengo in the neighboring Lumakanda location she was with her son on Tuesday last week where they visited their ancestral home in Malava together and returned safely adding that they last communicated on Wednesday before she received news of his death Monday morning.
The body was removed by officers from Turbo police station and taken to Kimbilio mortuary for postmortem to establish the cause of his death.
