Grief has engulfed Namang’ofulo village of Sirisia Constituency, Bungoma County after the body of a middle aged woman was found in a farm at Kimalilo hill with severe injuries on the head.
The body of Selina Nelima, aged 50 years, was on Tuesday morning found by the residents who were passing by the roadside. The residents grew suspicious after they noticed a trail of blood.
It is alleged the deceased was attacked by unknown people at around 5am who took her away and later the body was found in a pool of blood.
The residents led by Pastor Oliver Sitati condemned the heinous act, urging the security agencies to move with speed and investigate the matter so that the culprits may be brought to book. “It’s quiet unfortunate that we are experiencing such vices in this area, I think it’s time for our police officers to do regular patrols along this Sirisia-Tulienge road,” said Mr. Sitati.
Sirisia location chief Mr. Fred Sikala confirmed the incident, saying the police officers have launched investigations to arrest the criminals.
The body was taken to Bungoma Referral hospital morgue and the family has appealed to the government to help them cover the burial expenses.
Elsewhere, the body of a 65 year old man, Mr. Samwel Kijiji, was discovered near river Ndakaru, close to his motorbike, with residents speculating he might’ve succumbed in a terrible accident.
