A sorrowful mood engulfed Munyuki village in Lumakanda location, Lugari Sub County after the body of a middle aged man was discovered floating on water in River Kipkaren.
According to Miss Florence Ayuma she was returning home Friday evening with her children when they discovered an object floating on water.
“We normally pick logs from this river and prepare charcoal. At first we thought it was a log but on careful looking from a distance it resembled a human body,” said Ayuma.
She said since it was getting dark they proceeded home until Saturday morning when they returned to the river and confirmed it was a human body.

The body had serious visible injuries, an indication that the man might have been killed by unknown people and his body dumped in the river.
Confirming the incident, Munyuki sub location assistant chief Celestine Asige said the body might have been swept by water from far away saying there has been no report of a missing person from the area.
The body was removed by officers from Lumakanda police station and taken to Webuye Sub County hospital mortuary.
