A 12 year old boy is admitted at the Lugari sub county hospital with characters similar to that of a snake after allegedly killing a snake at Panpaper village.
According to the boy’s mother Mrs. Elizabeth Otunga, her son who is a standard six pupil at St. Kizito primary school returned home on Thursday evening last week and left to play with his friends at their neighbor’s home where it’s alleged he killed the serpent.
Mrs. Otunga said on Friday the boy woke up early as usual and left for school but returned later mid-morning feeling unwell complaining of pain on his right hand.
However she said things turned worse when the son started behaving like a serpent by crawling down and moving his tongue like a snake
When she asked him he admitted to have killed a snake in their neighbor’s compound the previous evening.
“He told me that when he went to play with his friends at our neighbor’s compound a snake crept in and the neighbor’s wife requested him to help her kill it,” explained Mrs. Otunga.
She later took him to the hospital where he has been admitted for the last one week without any diagnosis.
Mrs. Otunga who lives in abject poverty have appealed for help to meet the hospital bill as well as help his son come back to normalcy and continue with his education.
According to a medic at the facility who spoke on condition of anonymity no any diagnostic had been established and at a time they were forced to use diazepam injection to cool him down adding that they had preferred he be transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Eldoret for further medical examination.
The incident follows a similar one after a middle aged man went berserk after allegedly killing two snakes at Msalaba Yellow village, Soy sub location in the neighboring Likuyani sub county earlier in the week.
