Brand Kenya has officially launched a trade portal that will enable private sector users to acquire information on target markets.
The e-trade portal has vast and useful information designed to help traders export various kinds of products.
Speaking in Nairobi during the launch, Cabinet Secretary for Industry Adan Mohammed said that the portal has information for opportunities existing internationally.
“The portal is a one-stop shop for data and statistics for trade both locally and internationally,” explained the CS.
He also said that the National Trade Negotiations Council with Brand Kenya and the Industry Ministry now has an all inclusive team that will address issues of negotiations in trade.
County governments can as well share info on trade licenses, County markets and products available in their counties.
The portal which is Kenyatradeportal.go.ke will equip traders with statistics on imports and exports locally and internationally to gauge and boost the economy.and help the private sector.
Brand Kenya CEO said that the launch of the portal is a key milestone in implementing the trade policy in Kenya.
“I am confident that successful implementation of the e-trade portal will not only facilitate trade but enable delivery of trade promotion,” she said.
The launched trade tool is mooted to actualize Vision 2030 aspirations in economic growth and eradicate poverty through income redistribution and employment creation.
The trade portal is also one of the many interventions towards implementation of the National Trade Policy and has key information for suppliers across all the 47 counties in the Country.
