Construction of the Majani bridge on River Igologolo in Idakho east ward, Ikolomani constituency of the Kakamega county is underway.
The river that joins Sabane and Ivole sub location has for many years claimed lives of thousands of the residents when it overflows during rainy seasons.
It has been a headache for the residence to connect to the neighboring locations and more so very dangerous and risky for easy loss of life whenever the river is full.
The bridge also comes as a relief to the school going children who have been traveling to the other side via the river to get education.
Whenever it had rained and the river became full the children had been forced to be absent from school or walk a very long distance to the school.
The area MCA Mrs. Isabella Mugasia who is presiding over the construction process presented the need of a bridge along the Igologolo river at the office of the Kakamega county governor Hon Oparanya who took the initiative to fund the construction.

Residents will now have easy access from one location to the other as a result of the bridge when completed and this will bring forth development to the residents through the interactions.
Commencement of the construction of the Majani bridge has outlined the need of the role of the leaders in the ground of identifying the needs of the people in the grassroots and presenting their grievances to the relevant leadership in the county or national government so that the people who elected them into power may feel the benefits of their decision to vote them in.
